Publisher's summary

USA Today best-selling author Ward Larsen's globe-trotting assassin, David Slaton, returns for another breathless adventure in Assassin's Edge!

A US spy plane crashes off the northern coast of Russia at the same time that a Mossad operative is abducted from a street in Kazakhstan. The two events seem unrelated, but as suspicions rise, the CIA calls in its premier operative, David Slaton.

When wreckage from the aircraft is discovered on a remote Arctic island, Slaton and a team are sent on a clandestine mission to investigate. While they comb a frigid Russian island at the top of the world, disaster strikes yet again: a US Navy destroyer sinks in the Black Sea.

Evidence begins mounting that these disparate events are linked, controlled by an unseen hand. A mysterious source, code name Lazarus, provides tantalizing clues about another impending strike. Yet Lazarus has an agenda that is deeply personal, a thirst for revenge against a handful of clandestine operators. Prime among them: David Slaton.

Great Story Line

Great plot with lots of twists and turns. Well thought out characters and lots of action. Great ending with a possibility of a sequel. The narrator does talk like a news anchor, but when he does his characters and especially the ones with accents, he's good. So narration is a mixed bag. But overall, definitely worth the listen!

Somewhat hard to believe

Although the story could certainly happen, the pace of the book was slow and sometimes very hard to follow.

Staying with Larsen, but ditching the audible. PJ reads the story like the nightly news.

Another great David Slaton story but PJ has settled into a method of speech delivery similar to that of a newscaster. As I listened, I found myself getting lulled by the voice into not paying attention. Too bad since Larsen and Slaton are always worthy of a read. I will stick to the kindle from bow on unfortunately.

Well Written Story

I love books in the "Thriller" genre and have read all the David Slaton books. I found this book, like all the previous books in this series to be well written, fast moving, and with plenty of unexpected turns. I also like the fact that these books seem pretty up-to-date with what is going on in the world in terms of both politics and technology. I listened to the audible version and will have to admit that the narrator P. J. Ochlan is not my favorite, in my opinion there are other narrators that I think do a better job. Overall I would rate this book and the series to be well worth the reader's time. Good job, Ward Larsen.

The story really good but the narrator was ‘t

The story was imaginative and able to keep my attention. The technical issues were not confusing nor distracting. All in all a pretty good read BUT a better narrative would be helpful.

Why did audible hire Dracula for narration🤦🏾‍♀️

I really like Larsen's books, but this narrator reads like a news anchor. Worst, the "accents" are done in a Dracula type voice. SERIOUSLY - Dracula. I spent most of my time trying to enjoy the story and cringing at his reading. I will avoid all books with him reading and hope they get another reader for Slaton.
