Story
Me? I was an innocent bystander in a shootout between mobsters and spawned monsters. Thankfully, the System granted me the power to bring forth monsters from the void. With this ability to command magical beasts, I might just live out the apocalypse. Together with a ragtag group of survivors, we're wading through the mayhem while searching for somewhere safe. Somewhere that monsters aren't desperately trying to kill us, where the opportunistic among humanity aren't looking for easy XP.

Story
In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless. Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

Story
On a typical day, on an average train platform, two warring sister goddesses found their avatars. One avatar, the young Yoshi, was swept away to the world of Ephemera to be a great hero of honor, courage, and light. The other, the not-so-young Seiji, was swept away to become a dark lord out to kill or conquer all in his path. But Seiji is in absolutely no mood for that nonsense. It's bad enough that on Earth he was a closed-off, misanthropic grouch with zero patience for other people. Now he's supposed to muster enough of a give-a-damn to lead vile hordes?

Lucas was shocked when he awoke to find the world had ended. An alien AI called the System had taken over Earth and transformed his apartment building into a 100-floor dungeon tower of traps, monsters, and loot. Trapped at the top, Lucas and the other residents have just one year to reach the ground floor and escape before the tower self-destructs. That’s his first problem. The second is he slept through the System’s welcome orientation, so a Class was picked for him. Lucas is now a Blood Reaver. A brutal Class based on speed, ferocity, and striking from the shadows.

Sen never dreamed of ascension. Such were the aspirations of the rich young nobles, not orphans like him, scraping together a meager living on the streets of Orchard’s Reach. However, when destiny takes an unexpected turn, Sen finds himself thrust into the role of a cultivator’s disciple. Chosen over the nobles who once looked down on him, he is adopted into a makeshift family of three ancient cultivators, each with a lifetime of knowledge and insights. Publisher's summary
A young man possessing the ability to reforge the dead embarks on a quest for justice that crosses the line into revenge—and threatens to corrupt his soul.
For more than a decade, Earth has been plagued by black spheres known as Rifts that form in towns and cities without warning and transport people to alien landscapes where monstrous creatures hunt them mercilessly. Anyone lucky enough to escape returns home with an unusual side effect: supernatural powers coursing through their bodies from white crystal shards fused to their chests. With abilities ranging from uncanny agility and strength to immeasurable spell crafting, these Rifters are warriors and mages, battling extraterrestrials whenever a Rift appears.
Lance Turner was once a nurse at a hospital in London, England, dedicated to saving lives. Now, he is a particular kind of Rifter known as a Death Smith, capable of reforging and controlling the dead. It is a power he channeled when he tried to revive his best friend, Thomas Walker, only to create a barely sentient corpse who obeys his commands. Rechristening him Ash, Lance embarks on Rift missions to practice wielding his otherworldly talents, meanwhile training his undead companion to fight monsters.
Because Lance has a mission of his own. Forging Ash into an indestructible weapon, he will stop at nothing to see the three Rifters responsible for Thomas's death pay for their crimes. But as Lance resurrects more beasts to join his undead army, he risks losing his very humanity to the vengeful darkness consuming him . . .

Story
Surviving the first days of the apocalypse, William is a wreck and hiding in an attic. The daily acid storms, floating elementals, and bizarre mutated animals are the least of his problems. The reality-warping apocalypse has rules and a system much like those in video games. To survive, he must learn how the new uncooperative system works, choose a class without any real knowledge of what it does and create a place safe from the spawning horrors.

In the blink of an eye, a wiki editor’s deep and somewhat unhealthy understanding of a game becomes useful, usable knowledge when he inexplicably replaces the once-cruel royal bastard. Before he can start to push his frail body to use his deep understanding of the lore to handle the imminent apocalypse, or go off to stop an invasion, there’s a more personal task he needs to handle first. The System is XP and level-up based. The unique part is the System-based abilities that can be learned through the collection of magic cores, little orbs that have magical abilities, and weapon arts—a person has certain weapons that match them. There are quests, individual achievements, stats to gain, and recognition by the System for providing the greatest service/efforts during mass party quests, and more.

Mage Errant: Publisher's Pack contains books one and two of the Mage Errant series: Into the Labyrinth and Jewel of the Endless Erg. Hugh of Emblin is, so far as he's concerned, the worst student that the Academy at Skyhold has ever seen. He can barely cast any spells at all, and those he does cast tend to fail explosively.

Great story continues
Book 2 of this new LitRPG series. The concept is terrific; the characters seem genuine and the pacing flows smoothly, the point of view smoothly focuses the listener in a natural way. You're definitely engaged throughout the story and while the story does provide the stats, the story is not stat heavy like other LitRPGs. The narrator is fantastic and definitely brings the characters to life.
As others have mentioned the book (like book 1) runs on the shorter side and leaves you feeling like you just listened to the novella instead of a full novel. But it's definitely focused on the MC learning his power and the world. if you want a good LitRPG story and characters, spend the credit.
