This time, Minalan faces a real strategist; one who drives his armies with purpose and efficiency. The road to war leads through Megelin Castle and the vulnerable lands to the south of Vanado. War, however, is not what is preoccupying Minalan; the knowledge of the end of the world is. Terry continues to astonish
This one is battle laden, with all the beloved old characters and some intriguing new ones. Jannik the Rysh is my favorite non-magi. Fallassa and Bova are my new favorite goddesses. And there is nothing more satisfying than telling off a foolish duke, a treacherous vassal, and the Alka Alon council. It's hard to choose just one thing to love about this book, as he's beginning to bring this story to a head. Things start to get done here, and I'm hungry for more.
