Reader praise for A Trial of Innocents:
★★★★★ PAGE TURNER! - I truly enjoyed all of the characters and the plot. I also especially enjoyed the character of “Archie Kishner”. It was interesting to see how he came to play throughout the whole book.
★★★★★ Page turning SMART thriller with a message - A Trial of Innocents is among the tops of the finely woven courtroom thrillers I have had the pleasure of reading. Danial Solomon is brilliant in his capacity as defense attorney in a seemingly open and shut case for the prosecution. The manner in which Michael (Swiger) weaves the handling of several issues into one dramatically conclusive ending is masterful. Well done Mr. Swiger. I trust there are many more to come in the future.
★★★★★ Twists and turns - Michael Swiger's first book, A Trial of Innocents, is truly thought-provoking and intriguing. The characters face real issues, dilemmas and conflicts that every reader can identify with at some point in their lives. It is a blessing to read such an excellent suspenseful novel, that is filled with characters that both know and love the Lord and show this love to others through their actions and not just words! Great book, and example!
★★★★★ Mr. Swiger is a genius! - "A Trial of Innocents" is an amazing story of an all too common struggle with life, justice, ethics and morality. In Mr. (Swiger’s) artful style, he takes the reader on a mind-walk through a small town in Ohio, the minds of his characters that live there and the static legal systems which are unfortunately so common throughout America. Along with painting a vivid picture of the intricate struggle of the characters involved, this book forced me to reconsider the court concept of "public trust and confidence" as a result of reading it. "A Trial of Innocents" is uncommonly real and personally impactive on several levels; it is a great read wrought with ethical and moral complexity. In this, his first published work, Mr. Swiger unfolds the issues at hand and invites the reader to consider them through such skillful use of several literary elements. He develops the twists of the plot and builds them into an amazing climax and ending. THIS BOOK IS UNDOUBTEDLY A SUPERB GIFT FOR ALL OF MY FRIENDS. I highly recommend it.
★★★★★ GREAT BOOK - YOU WON'T WANT TO STOP READING! - A Trial of Innocents was hard to put down. Michael did an outstanding job with his first book - every page holds your interest urging you to read the next page. The story was very real and if I had not known, I would never have guessed this was his first book. It is truly one of the most intriguing books I have read. I highly recommend this book for everyone to read.

The Jury Did its Job...and Everyone Else's Job, too. What happens when a new jury is made up of jaded members? Some of them have sat on juries where the bailiff or a policeman stuck his head in the door and gave them information that was barred in court. Or maybe the government uses a fake tape recording to convict someone, and the jury decides to get hold of the original tape and see what's changed. Or maybe a judge has agreed to help the government because he's under audit by the IRS and facing criminal tax charges. All of these things can and do happen. Pity the poor defense attorney ...

religious bigotry
Straw man built and knocked down repeatedly. Misogynous "hero". By chapter 2 the antichrist is identified and God answers a prayer to keep an elevator from getting stuck. What's next - find my keys? No, it's an involuntary abortion, and God is the abortionist, to rescue a voluntary abortion. So dumb. A Christian perspective is one thing but the novel was to be about a murderer. Instead, it's just preaching.

Say no to AI read books
The storyline was pretty good but I just could not continue to listen. The AI reading just ruined it. no settle inflections in the speech pattern. mispronunciations. it just wasn't worth listening to it anymore. this was the first and will be the last book I ever download that's read by AI.
