A tad angsty but totally within the plot/personality
Eventually all the unspoken words gets frustrating, it’s like SAY IT ALREADY! There are only so many unspoken words we can take! It’s like head trauma.... thrown in your face! Yet it all works. It’s a very enjoyable regency romance. I know it’s odd to say so after a complaint but it’s true. I totally enjoyed this book!
Kate Reading is a good narrator but has a slightly odd cadence to her delivery, or is it the accent? I can’t quite put my finger on it... so it’s not too obvious, huh?
Yes, there is sex. The appropriate heat, and no more than needed. This book isn’t one that survives on ridiculously long “bedroom” scenes.

Book Two in the Longhope Abbey series..

This book was just excellent all around!!! 🤩🤩🤩
The plot, the characters, the narration.., EVERYTHING was just so good!! The main characters had such great chemistry. The storyline was hilarious and sexy! I love how natural the relationship between Arabella and Guy felt throughout the whole book.
BONUS: I love listening to any romance book that Kate Reading narrates. She just brings the characters to life so wonderfully.

Amazing wonderful gives all the feelings
Wow, this book was so great and with an unusual heroine which I related to and loved. Too tall, has a father with emotional baggage and defensive with her feelings. I loved everything about Arabella--especially how she took charge of the relationship with Guy. This is my second book ever read from Mia Vincy and she really know how to lay on the parental dysfunction which does tug at the heart strings. I really enjoyed this book, gave me lots of feels. Going on the favorite shelf!

Good story - albeit somewhat exasperating!
This was a good story - albeit somewhat exasperating! Several times I almost abandoned this book because Arabella was SO. EXTREMELY. ANNOYING!
I kept listening only because of Guy. I enjoyed Book 1 of this series so much more than this one, only because Arabella got on my nerves so much.
Looking forward to the next story.

Not your typical romance.
Passionate, compelling, and challenging. These words describe not only the main characters but the overall feeling of the entire book. I liked that it revealed things slowly over time. I like that it was strong in story and interesting in evolution showing women in all their types and the masks some wear. Definitely a steamy romance but I’ve never read a romance with a character that was as strong and hard yet vulnerable and powerful as Arabella. I read the first book in the series I could see her potential but had no idea how complex and truly beautiful she was. Can’t imagine how this author was able to create a character like her. I’ve never met anyone like her and she would be fearsome and incredible to behold. I think that’s why the story has to move slowly and hinder things so graciously as it keeps you wanting to know more. This is a deeper story and then lighthearted at the same time. I’m glad that I read it as I didn’t know a book like this could exist. It’s definitely not all fluff but it’s not so serious that you don’t see the wonder and feel the love that every romance novel is meant to bring you. Just what I needed. She is this for clear sky intermittently violent with storm or luminous with stars and beautiful in all he glory. He is the mountain the stable base needed to support the sky and display its majesty above.

One of the best romance novels I’ve ever read
This hits all the right places and I could not recommend it more. Somehow, it manages to stay true to the regency romance genre while updating the themes for modern readers. Such a satisfying read!
