Papa Thomes taught me how to use my dark curse to fight for the good guys. Like Alfred and Robin did for Batman—except we straight up murder Jokers and Two-Faces. Biteman and Pope’n.

By exsanguinating the wicked in horrific, truly imaginative ways, and having a grand ol’ time doing it. You know what they say about doing what you love....

But our party is soon cut short when we learn the end of days is just around the corner and that the fine print of my contract might have hidden a few other tidbits. Like the fact that I was central to kicking off the apocalypse and that the archdemons will stop at nothing to make sure the dude abides by the terms of his contract.

Classic creatures with an interesting twist.

Is this perfect? No. But is it awesome? Yes
Almost like an alternate reality Dressen with an expansive world full of fun and interesting characters. This series takes nods from all over pop culture. With puns, fourth wall breaks, and references.
If you enjoy a heavily comedic story that also puts you in your feels then this is it. Laughs, anger, tears, and smiles.

Also, it's narrated by the legendary Luke Daniels. So that alone puts this story on a whole different level of awesome.

yea. this book is good and the reader is awsom... BUT. im just about to stop listening. the guy keeps fliping out and leaving his companion s to fight on their own. How many times many times is he going to keep doing it. itz getting long in the tooth and I still have 10 hours to go. I may not finish this because John is a grown idiot with power. he's still, like a child. like I said. very, VERY LONG IN THE TOOTH

What do you do when evil has you surrounded?

When you are in the fight of your life, here is my advice:
Take small model Death Star and turn it into a giant Pokéball, to capture all of your enemies.
Trust me, it's a great...PLAN!

Long in the tooth

Good story, but goes on and on. The narrator is pretty good. I think I have 13 hrs left and I'm not sure I can finish it. same story over and over. 3.5 ⭐

Great story so far! Really enjoying the characters and of course, Luke Daniels knocks it out of the park on the narration!

it's a good series

I don't normally like these kind of stories but this series is an entertaining surprise

laughing over gore

John makes you cheer for him. you laugh you cry and you feel imersed inbthe story. it is a gripping tale

I am so glad I found this Author.

Hunter Blain keeps you entertained with the tales of John, the Vampire. The sarcastic, movie quoting full of himself Vampire is an unlikely hero for the forces of Good. The narrator, Luke Daniels, at times, sounds like Jack Nicholson, at others, Negan from The Walking Dead. Don't know if that was his intention, but it works. I highly recommend

My new favorite vampire

What a great series excellent storytelling manages to be hilarious extremely dark and gruesome while our favorite neighborhood vampire struggles with his constant hunger and morales . I drive truck for a living and listening to this the hrs fly by !

Just reread Dresden and save yourself a credit

Was hoping this would be a series akin to the fun and drama of Dresden. Instead it was a pale rip off from a dark trenchcoat, to a magical sidekick, Catholic monster fighting friend (sort of) and faerie frenemies. Terrible characters, terrible story telling, terrible writing. It tries too hard to be edgy and funny, and just ends up being painfully annoying. The main character reminds me of all the good ol' boy redneck friends who thought their d*ck jokes were funny that my ex husband used to hang with that I couldn't stand.

I only made it halfway through the 1st book by gritting my teeth and forcing myself because I felt I needed to give it a fair shot because I spent a credit. When a supporting character started tearing his face off with his own fingers, I threw in the towel. This author gets off on gore for the sake of it rather than being any kind of real addition to the story.

So this series gets relegated to the same trash bin as the ex husband and his sophmoric friends. Bye Boy!
