Relatable

I love it, I started the book yesterday and couldn’t stop reading a roller coaster of emotions, it reminded so much of my relationship with my parents, also the relationship with my siblings.

Such a cute book

Had me laughing out loud more than once. Great performance by the narrator as well. A beautiful, relatable story.

Nostalgia for the kinds of stories I wanted in the 1990s

When I came out there was nothing like this circling at local bookstores. Queer characters were hard to find, you’d get the occasional shout out in sci-fi, or by going to much more adult books, and none of those characters were BIPOC. A big thank you to Sonora Reyes for writing a piece that shows queer kids falling in love, struggling with many of the problems of queer youth today, working to represent mental illness, and teaching allies a way they can stand up for their QBIPOC friends.

First book I heard on audible and I loved it first book I could really relate to definitely will be reading more from this author

Funny, relatable, gritty

This book hit close to home as a triple minority. Reyes did a wonderful job at capturing a complex story, pulling in many narratives, and ending things well instead of tragically. It was full spectrum and though a YA book, my 30 something self truly enjoyed it.

After listening to audio I wished I had a time machine. Highly recommend this book, I laughed out load as I recalled my own coming out to my mexican family and religion.

Yea!

I didn’t want the book to end because I wanted to spend more time with the characters celebrating their victory.

Dramatic and cute

Young adult book that covers a lot of ground. It was a good story and a satisfying end.
