Resumen del Editor

Hercule Poirot is asked by Prince Paul of Maurania to solve the murder of Henry Reedburn, which has greatly distressed the Prince's fiancée, the famous dancer Valerie Saintclair. The only other witnesses seem to be a family of four who were playing bridge near an open window when she staggered in, crying, "Murder!"

Accents, overacting & Poirot’s condescending cheek

Love these little nuggets, especially when narrated with gusto. As usual, Poirot is always the
smartest card in the deck.

Short but interestingly mysterious.

Another wonderful story from Agatha Christie that is all about the shoes. I enjoy the brief but interesting stories involving Poirot.

Perfect

David suchet to me IS Poirot, so this narration is perfect. The story itself is one of the shorter stories by agatha christie.

Short but Sweet

As always Hercule Poirot does it again. His little grey cells solved the mystery but his ability to see things not as Black or White helped him decide what is best to be done with his knowledge and the good of all parties.

Narrator David Suchet was excellent as he always is when performing as the great detective.

Not for me; I got it because it was on sale

This was my first Agatha Christie read and sadly, I was not a fan. I've watched some films based on her novels (Death on the Nile, Murder on the Orient Express) and they were entertaining enough mainly due to the great cast rather than the plot. I thought a short story would be a good segue into her novels but it was TOO short. I felt like the case was opened and closed so quickly that I couldn't follow it at all. I even listened to this 3 times but was still confused at the end. Just not for me.

David Suchet as a narrator? Yes, please!

David Suchet as a narrator? Yes, please! He's is, obviously, amazing and the one true Poirot, so
it was wonderful listening to him.

The story was, however, very simple and the characters were so shallow that, to me at least, they felt more like caricatures than complex characters. Short stories rarely have the page number to allow for deep characters. This is why, by far, I tend to prefer full length novels to short stories. And Christie's short stories are no different.

Still, I'd listen to David Suchet's Poirot talk about anything, really.
