After explaining both natural and artificial mummification, the author shows that the incorruption of the Saints bodies fits into neither category but constitutes a much greater phenomenon which is unexplained by modern science even to this day. The author presents 102 canonized Saints, Beati and Venerables, summarizing their lives, the discovery of their incorruption and investigations by Church and medical authorities.
The incorruptible bodies of saints are a consoling sign of Christ s victory over death, a confirmation of the dogma of the Resurrection of the Body, a sign that the Saints are still with us in the Mystical Body of Christ, as well as a proof of the truth of the Catholic Faith for only in the Catholic Church do we find this phenomenon.

The Reformers confronted the bad theology which led to this (and other worse abuses, like priest-patronized brothels) and returned to the Bible to develop a theology of vocation that began to free Christians to be "holy" no matter their occupation. But today, modern feminist claims about vocation have more in common with the pre-Reformation popes than anything else....

If it were not for physical frailty and the lack of reproductive health among the Tudors, the course of history might have been different.

Amazed at the number of incorruptible Saints!
Fascinating and spiritually enlightening to learn about these miracles. A bit morbid by today’s standards to hear about dismemberment for relics. Learning about Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster’s recent incorruptible discovery spurred my interest in the topic. Curious to know if additional miracles discovered since the publishing in 1977. Recommended for anyone interested in learning more.
