The timing and sequences. Slow pace but excellent conclusion.

Really took a while to get comfortable with the characters but my trust in Ms French is unfailing.

Strong story

I liked the characters, the setting but Cal’s protectiveness over the “kid” is just a little over the top- but all in all- it was a great listen!

I love Tana French, and enjoy all of her books. This one was lacking something for me, but it was still good.

A Deeply Satisfying French Dip

I am growing fond of French’s new Cal Hooper series, and this novel in particular develops a new story set in the small, decidedly not-quaint, Irish village of Ardnekelty. This one is all about the slow unfolding of action and reaction. French is a master at character building and tension. Very satisfying narrator as well.

Unnecessarily long. From the middle until right before the end was just boring. Loved the rest of it.

Excellent book - Narrator Amazing

I re-listened to the first book of this series “The Searcher” since it came out years ago - and went headfirst into this book “The Hunter”.

Tana French writes beautifully and develops her characters so well I almost felt like I was there again, in Ireland, with the misty air and the dewy grasses.

The Narrator,Roger Clark, is excellent - his transitions back and forth from the American character Cal and the rest of the Irish characters in the book is seamless. Absolutely wonderful.

I’m ready for book 3 (and more)!!

Personalities abound

The narration is amazing with the accents and expressions of the characters that just makes the story that much better. So glad I listened instead of read
