Brian Cox, born in Dundee, Scotland, has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theater extensively, where he gained recognition for his portrayal of King Lear. He played supporting roles in Rob Roy (1995) and in Mel Gibson’s Academy Award-winning Braveheart (1995). A winner of two Olivier Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award, he was appointed to the Order of the British Empire at the rank of Commander.

In my top 5 sleep audios

Got this shortly after it appeared in fall of 21, my second one when starting to acquire “sleep stories”. It was over a year before I think I had heard all of the book but never fully from start to finish….which for me, qualified it as the very point of a go to sleep story.

Great Story

Loved it. Enjoyed what I heard before I fell asleep. And listened to it again after waking to get the full story

Unexpected

Interesting with good Voice, the telling of information was unknown for some of it. The subjects wandered a bit and the ending was abrupt and left you feeling like there was still more to come. I listened to the Audio 4 times and still experienced the same feelings.

Loved It

I wish there was more to listen to. So soothing, relaxing and magical! There should definitely be another installment.

A great bedtime story

Brian Cox is a fabulous narrator of this collection of bedtime stories. I heard some of this from my Grandma who was Scottish via Canada. It was nice to reconnect.

Highland faires

Brian Cox delivers a story that is entertaining and informational. I have enjoyed listening to this tale from the Celtic people

Absolutely Great

Absolutely wonderful. No one should be allowed to read anything Scottish. I had no idea Mr. Cox had recorded any audiobooks. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🧚

Sweet and short but lovely, could listen to it again! Love Brian Cox’s narrative voice!

Best bedtime story EVER.

This is one of the few and only bedtime stories that I can listen to, time and time again, and GUARANTEE that I have never made it through to the end. Granted, that is until just now...
The dulcet tones of Brian Cox’s narration immediately sets my usually overstimulated brain into a state of safety, relaxation, and ease.
The only flaw I can remark on is that the audible is so incredibly well produced that I’ve had to listen to the story at least 50 times before finally making it to the very end without falling asleep.

Really good background on the Fay folk

The narrator was awesome and I really appreciate the way he could draw you into the history of this Celtic belief, and I would not doubt that their people today still believe in fairies :-) I would recommend it for anyone who likes or is even getting interested in Irish or Scottish or Germanic historic fantasy.
