surprisingly good

this book was nothing like any other Lisa Jewell book I've read. I was pleasantly surprised considering it was drastically different. I really liked the characters and it really didn't take me very long to get sucked into it! if you're looking for a mystery this is not the book for you. but if you're looking for just a decent story, light reading with good characters give it a try!

Lovely

I really recommend this book. The story is really nice, the characters are all very endearing and I just couldn’t put it down.
It is extremely well written, you go on this journey with them and feel like you are part of this big crazy house

Good book

Enjoyed it. A solid 4. I love how well Ms. Jewell develops her characters. A good summer read.

Sad it is over

This was a very nice story. I did not want it to end. I usually read darker stuff, but this was a nice break from the depressing. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in this book. The narration was excellently executed. Two thumbs up!

interesting story to a point. I didnt care for the accents but the story was different.

I loved listening. The plot was engaging and the voice actor did a fabulous job.

Another great listen from Lisa Jewell

Jewell never ceases to get me invested in the characters that she creates and this book is no exception. I just adore Toby. A little different thing though was that in this book she’s managed to create a character that I despise, who has seemingly no redeeming qualities in Ruby. Excellent book, highly recommend!

Delightful

This was the first book by Lisa Jewell that I've ever read and it was just lovely. I was looking for something different from my usual sci-fi and fantasy fare and decided to try this. The summary sounded good but I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be chick lit, which I abhor? But no, it was a delightful, character-driven story, which I love. It was filled with layered characters who often make the wrong decisions and I wanted to shake them, but it all turns out all right in the end and not in a fairy tale way, thank goodness. I will definitely be buying more books by this author.

Loved the narration but the story is so boring.

I love this author but I don't really know what the point of this book was. It was so boring. The narrator is really fantastic though so I did enjoy listening to it to fall asleep. Otherwise, meh.

The Lonely

Toby lives in a large house with people he doesn't much care for. His father, who's never liked him, is returning to London for a visit and Toby wants to get his life together. He's been stuck since his wife walked out on him a few weeks after their marriage. When an admittedly nosy neighbour decides to help he just may have a chance at change.
Wonderful narration by Helen Duff brings out Lisa Jewell's humour. Loved it.
