Resumen del Editor
We all have had an experience where the difference between a job we loved and a job we hated came down to the manager. So, if you find yourself in a managerial position, you may feel like there’s a lot of new pressure put on you. Managers have a significant impact not only on their team’s ability to do their jobs successfully, but also on their team’s overall well-being. What if your working style doesn’t mesh with your employees? What if you don’t communicate in the same way? What is the best way to provide annual reviews or constructive feedback?
Rachel Pacheco, professor of management at Georgetown University’s McDonough Business School and a former chief people officer, will give you tools and tips that will immediately and positively affect how you manage people, despite differences in communication styles or personalities. With seven research-backed lessons, including suggested exercises, this course will help you develop and practice the skills to ultimately make you more fulfilled, competent, and successful in your role.
Rachel starts by providing tips on how to give constructive feedback and have difficult conversations, how to motivate and inspire your team members, and how to help them find a deeper sense of meaning in their day-to-day jobs. She will take you step by step through recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees and show you how to build an effective team that thrives. She’ll even help you manage your own shifting identity as you take on new roles and grow in your company.
By becoming a great manager, you are ensuring that your team members are contented, motivated, and excited to be part of your organization.

Questions like these are essential for anyone building a money-management plan, but they’re less about the line-by-line details of taxes and investment holdings and more about your approach to saving money and spending it—and preparing for the future.

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

When Michael Lewis first met him, Sam Bankman-Fried was the world’s youngest billionaire and crypto’s Gatsby. CEOs, celebrities, and leaders of small countries all vied for his time and cash after he catapulted, practically overnight, onto the Forbes billionaire list. Who was this rumpled guy in cargo shorts and limp white socks, whose eyes twitched across Zoom meetings as he played video games on the side? In Going Infinite Lewis sets out to answer this question, taking listeners into the mind of Bankman-Fried.

What does it mean to be a man in the modern world? Throughout history, being a man has meant different things. Maybe being a man was about being a good hunter, or a good soldier, a good businessman, or maybe good with women. Hard Times Create Strong Men examines what it means to be a man in the modern world relative to money, sex, religion, and politics. This audiobook examines what worked and what doesn’t work based on proven history instead of feelings.

The stuff of conspiracy theories makes for great, entertaining stories in movies, books, and television. And there is no shortage of subjects: from who really killed JFK to the truth behind 9/11. And then, there are subjects from alien invasions to the Moon landing was simulated - theories that are truly out of this world, which according to some, is flat. Many of these crazy concepts have jumped off the pages or screens to become so pervasive in our culture that thousands - even millions - subscribe to them as reality.

Helpful
Straightforward content. I struggle with a lot of leadership books that drag the material out for hours. This was to the point.

Clear and Concise
I enjoyed the clear and concise points presented by the author. Also, the examples supporting the points of each lecture were great.

Practical and engaging
There are many books on managing out there. This one comes with clear, practical and actionable advice. It is narrated in an engaging and compelling manner. I felt more confident in my role as a manager given the hand rails provided in the book - and that’s after almost two decades of managing people and teams.

Fantastic quick study
There are a lot of ‘setups’ and ‘we’re about to learn….’ Instead just get to the point. But the ideas- once she finally gets to them-is SO helpful.
