Historia
Ever since Ellie wore a whale swimsuit and made a big splash at her fifth-birthday party, she's been bullied about her weight. To cope, she tries to live by the Fat Girl Rules - like "no making waves", "avoid eating in public", and "don't move so fast that your body jiggles". And she's found her safe space - her swimming pool - where she feels weightless in a fat-obsessed world. In the water, she can stretch herself out like a starfish and take up all the room she wants. It's also where she can get away from her mom, who thinks criticizing Ellie's weight will motivate her to diet.

Historia
Sometimes, 12-year-old Donte wishes he were invisible. As one of the few black boys at Middlefield Prep, most of the students don't look like him. They don't like him either. Dubbing him "Black Brother", Donte's teachers and classmates make it clear they wish he were more like his lighter-skinned brother, Trey. When he's bullied and framed by the captain of the fencing team, "King" Alan, he's suspended from school and arrested for something he didn't do.

Fifteen-year-old Amadou counts the things that matter. For two years what has mattered are the number of cacao pods he and his younger brother, Seydou, can chop down in a day. This number is very important. The higher the number, the safer they are, because the bosses won't beat them. The higher the number, the closer they are to paying off their debt and returning home to Moke and Auntie. Maybe. The problem is, Amadou doesn't know how much he and Seydou owe, and the bosses won't tell him.

Resumen del Editor
Timothy is on probation. It's a strange word - something that happens to other kids, to delinquents, not to kids like him. And yet, he is under house arrest for the next year. He must check in weekly with a probation officer and a therapist and keep a journal for an entire year. And mostly, he has to stay out of trouble.
But when he must take drastic measures to help his struggling family, staying out of trouble proves more difficult than Timothy ever thought it would be.
By turns touching and funny, and always original, House Arrest is a middle-grade novel in verse about one boy's path to redemption as he navigates life with a sick brother, a grieving mother, and one tough probation officer.

But as Carrie and Cricket become fast friends, neither can escape the pull of their families' secrets.

Their dad, a hardcore believer in self-reliance, has stockpiled enough food and water at their isolated Nevada home to last for months. But when they are robbed of all their supplies during a massive blackout while their dad is out of town, John and Stew must walk 96 miles in the stark desert sun to get help. Along the way, they’re forced to question their dad’s insistence on self-reliance and ask just what it is that we owe to our neighbors, our kin, and to ourselves.

Wonderful, Outstanding, Phenomenal
The title of this story is very great for this book in particular. I think K.A. Holt is an wonderful author and this is definitely up his alley. The story line continuously reminds you that the main character is on house arrest.
PERFORMANCE
In my opinion the performance could have possibly been better especially since it a book that is read to you because if not you will probably end up taking a nap and then waking up to the loud voice of the narrator.
STORY
The story is amazing and will really make you think your own life and what you're grateful for.

Amazing !!!
Omg. I downloaded this book so I could help my daughter with her book project meanwhile I’m in nursing school and is very busy . One word, AMAZING! I really enjoyed listening to this audio. I finished it in one day ! It really relates to a lot of people, especially with single moms! I recommend everyone to read/listen to this book.

Amazing.
I love the way they make it so that you think it’s a poem (in the book.) I love how interesting and in detail it is. I just love it!
