Strange things are happening on the icy planet of Petaybee. Unauthorized, genetically engineered species have been spotted, and the locals may be deliberately hiding something—perhaps even plotting rebellion. As a combat veteran and a medical retiree, Yana is the ideal person to get close to the natives. She is quickly adopted by the people of Petaybee, who feed her a home remedy that soothes her ragged lungs. Another narrator please
Was so pleased to find in audiobook this series that I 've enjoyed and reread. I was able to lose myself in the story but I found the narrator's voice distracting and irritating. Her voice for Chuck made him sound small and annoying rather than the grand man that he is. The different ethnic voices distracted from the story, rather than adding to it. It was a good thing that I really enjoy the story or I might not have finished the book.

Botany Bay in Space
A nice bit of space opera with humans as refugees from their own world and their conquers. It has a bit of human alien romance, but aside from that it is solid.

One of my favorites!
What do you do when your pleasant life on earth is gone? How do you know who to trust? Many adventures, interesting aliens and some annoying/scary types make this an an intriguing tale. Plus, I love a good story where the heroine is tall.

The producers decision to make the "thoughts" of the characters in an echoing voice is very odd and off putting.
