Resumen del Editor

Something is wrong in our society. Deeply wrong.

The belief that all lives matter is at the heart of our founding documents - but we must admit that this conviction has never truly reflected reality in America. Movements such as Black Lives Matter have arisen in response to recent displays of violence and mistreatment, and some of us defensively answer back, "All lives matter". But do they? Really?

This audiobook is an exploration of that question. It delves into history and current events, into Christian teaching and personal stories, in order to start a conversation about the way forward. Its raw but hopeful words will help move us from apathy to empathy and from empathy to action.

We cannot do everything. But we can each do something.

Enlightening

As a non-supporter of the BLM organization and as a history teacher, this book was well written and thought provoking. I see where my shortcomings are in my blind faith in the judicial system, as a white middle class woman. And although I still do not feel I can get behind BLM as an organization as i feel they are just a pandering group for the democrats, I can get behind their call that All Lives do Matter, while still recognizing the need for organizations such as BLM. And hoping that we can end discrimination in our nation, by simply treating each other with kindness and respect, and love for one another. I teach about many of the things the authors spoke about. And I try to get my students to empathize with how horrible the treatment of blacks in America was. But I truly feel we have come so far. And value what we as a nation have done in just over 270+ years. We have more to do, but we should be proud of what we have do e. And individuals of all colors need to be responsible for their choices and decisions . Thank you for such a thought provoking book.

Message of hope with a strategy

First off I will listen to about anything read by Calvin Robinson! like all John Perkins books this is a refreshing change to the blame, division or focusing on a victims mentality. He rightly gives inside and doesn't sugar coat over the wrongs committed in this country but provides a Christ centered hope for reconciliation.

Challenging in truth!

I am currently rocked by the challenge and truth of these words and the implication and demand to action....seeking life for all...especially for those that are not considered or protected and looked down against...come together as a true American hero...thanks Coach, Ann and Mr.Perkins for standing for Love!
