I’m hooked!!!

I was hooked instantly! I devoured this book in 1 day. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here.

Holy Why-Choose!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When you guys said this book was fantastic, YOU WEREN'T KIDDING. 👏🏻 I went into this why-choose, fated mates story with guarded expectations. Why-choose with more than 3 partners can really be hit or miss for me, but let me tell you that this one HIT and we haven't even gotten any spice yet!

The magic system of this urban fantasy (?) is truly unique even though I don't really understand it at all right now. 😅 You have no idea what Ollie's powers are the whole book or why she ran from her bonds, only that it was to protect them and they can't know.

There is definitely some bully elements, some s/a references, and violence so check your trigger warnings.

I listened to the first one on audible but immediately downloaded the second onto my kindle to start on later.

Amazing!

I loved this book! I get it now. I get all the hype and yeah... you should read it. I'm so happy the series is complete and I can just five into the next one! 🙌🙌🙌

Good story line, narration isn’t my fav

The story is developing nicely, and there is good character development and world building. The narrator has a good voice, though I’d prefer a less dramatic approach. There is a lot of desperation and whining but I guess that is part of the plot. There is also some volume difficulties so I find myself adjusting the volume depending on the loudness of the narration. Sometimes I can’t hear it so I turn it up and then my ears are blasted when the narrator gets loud unexpectedly. Not a deal breaker, just cumbersome.

Five Frustratingly Fantastic Stars!!

Broken Bonds was everything I was hoping for and more!! By more, I mean I want to strangle Oli. And North. and Nox.

I am a big sucker for why choose romance and Broken Bonds was addictive AF but it wasn't without its issues. For some reason this just felt like one big introduction to Oli and her men more than an actual first book. It was a lot of back and forth with Oli being pissed at her men for treating her like garbage and I am on her side there, so good on you babe. I would have just liked more when it came to the actual story of the Bonds and their Bonded. Like, I get why they were mad at her leaving, but they didn't even hear her out. She was 14 for god's sake, what kinds of nefarious plans could she have come up at that young of an age? They just seemed a bit too angry when from what I took away from the entire bond/bonded situation was that they were supposed to want her more than anything. Like bro, let her talk and maybe just listen. She was kind of tight lipped about it but at the same time if given the chance she could have explained as much as she was able to. She just didn't get the chance because MEN!!

Then was it just me or did Atlas seem a little too good? Like... he was perfection from the very start and if I have learned anything if something is perfect from the start then it is probably too good to be true. Maybe he really did just want to be there for his Bond...

SO. MANY. UNANSWERED. QUESTIONS.

And those Draven brothers! Excuse the heck out of me guys but who told you that you were Gods? Oh, that's right you aren't so stop acting like it. I do think North is going to be the most surprising when everything finally comes out but that doesn't mean I don't want to shank him.

Kasi Hollowell did the entire narration for this book and while I was skeptical because there are just so many characters and voices she did remarkably well. Her voice was sexy, sassy and everything I love in a female narrator. I truly hope she continues with the series because I doubt anyone but her could deliver Oli's snark in that way.

While I realize this review doesn't say much about the actual story it is more a rambling of thoughts, that is all I have. There are far too many unanswered questions and with the story barely beginning I don't have any idea what to expect. I do know we are just now starting to see what Oleander can do and I hope she gives those boys a taste of their own medicine because after what a couple of them pulled with her in this book they have it coming to them tenfold.

Slow Start

It’s a slow start. Towards the end of the book is when I started to get invested more.

You’re apparently 1 brained celled, to build a whole world and define as many characters without giving to much away for the other books to continue the story is hard, and this was well done.

My friends have been trying to get me to read this series and all I can say is they were right!! The story is amazing!! The journey that Oli goes on is just amazing. The bullymance is strong. I love how funny the FMC is and how snarky she is. Great listen.

WHY CHOOSE DAYDREAM

So far it’s a sloooow burn but I’m living for it. On to book 2!
