Narrator NOT terrible. Just different.

I agree. I wish Jennifer Ikeda finished this series. But I don't think Amanda Leigh Cobb was terrible. She was just very different.

After I got over my initial frustration, I really started listening to the story itself. By the time I got to the battle and the story line with Nesta's arc? I was hooked. The scenes with Elaine are heartbreaking. I also loved Lucien's journey. And I caught myself aching for Mor during her . . . confession. (No spoilers!!)

For me, this one was less about Feyre and Rhys and more about the other characters. My heart was absolutely broken for Tamlin who I STILL think got screwed in this entire story, but that's just my opinion. I fall into the "Go, Tamlin! camp" because I don't think his actions were necessarily any more abusive than Rhys's actions under the mountain -- Anyway.

Give the STORY a chance. New narrator doesn't deserve to be raked across the coals for a decision that was not hers to make. I still enjoyed it!!!!!

It was worth the wait!!!

I absolutely loved this the story the twist and turns. I cried An laughed during this story. I recommend it to everyone who likes a story that keeps you up late at night because you can't put it down.

they changed thw narrator

Its distrating and Rhys sounds like a butler or something in her voice. Not very sexy. Sad she does the next in the series. The main character was supposed to be in her 20s and its like being read to by a much older grade school teacher.

Another great one

Another great finish by Sarah J Maas! Even the change in narrator wasn't bad. Wondering if there will be another after this one to deal with the Queen's?

LOVED the story. Barely tolerated the narration.

I am SO glad I read the book first. After reading the books and listening to all of the previous audio titles performed by Jennifer Ikeda, the narration of this one was difficult to get through. It's like this person didn't read or listen to any of the previous titles. It made the characters completely...'out of character' for me. I would 100% recommend the book, but would not recommend this particular narration at all. Totally cringe worthy and awkward and off rhythm for my taste; especially compared to all the hard work Ikeda put in the previous works. Ugh.

Narrator is terrible!

I can't decide if she just sounds like a pissy adolescent or if she just reads like you would to a small child (over the top in the worst way). Either way it's a bad fit and a huge let down!

Narration issues

It was hard to listen to because the narrator mispronounced a few words repeatedly. Frustrating. Storyline is pretty similar to Throne of Glass. Just doesn't feel like a well written story, constantly hearing the same descriptions is grating. Wings are always "tucked in tight," and her breasts "get heavy and swollen" when aroused?! What?

Why no Jennifer Ikeda???

I love this series. I discovered it because I searched for books narrated by Jennifer and the first book came back as an option. I love the stories but Jennifer really brought them to life. That woman can weave a tale like no one else. I'm incredibly disappointed that after two books they chose a different narrator for this one. It just isn't the same. the narrator was okay but she wasn't able to suck me in the way Jennifer can. I listened to about half and just read the rest.

New reader worth giving a chance.

She's certainly new, but very similar...to the point that I couldn't tell the difference a few chapters in. Wonderful novel only enhanced by the reader.

It took me a bit to get used to the narrator switch from the first two books for such an amazing story.
