Resumen del Editor

This second edition of the best-selling guide by top human resources author Paul Falcone provides guidance for managers, including sample dialogues for how to broach uncomfortable conversations across a wide range of issues.

Inappropriate workplace conduct, lateness, sexually offensive behavior, productivity and communication issues...these are just a few of the uncomfortable topics bosses must sometimes discuss with their employees. 101 Tough Conversations to Have with Employees offers realistic sample dialogues managers can use to facilitate clear, direct interactions with their employees, helping to sidestep potential awkwardness and meet issues head-on.

This practical, solution-oriented audiobook walks listeners through some of the most common - as well as the most serious - employee problems they are likely to encounter. While covering everything from substandard performance reviews to progressive disciplinary warnings and termination meetings, the second edition of this best-selling resource offers listeners 20 new scenarios covering current hot-button issues like FMLA abuse and ADA accommodations, wage and hour challenges, team turnarounds, and compensation conflicts.

This handy guide helps managers treat their people with dignity and respect, focusing not just on what to say but also on how to say it. It provides proven techniques managers can use to protect themselves and their organizations - and get the very best from their people.

101 Explanations For Your Manager’s Behavior

A wonderful reference book for people who are new to working at large corporations. It explains what your manager is trying to convey and how they should convey it for nearly every common managerial-employee conflict.

Corporate Focused Lacking Small Office Scenerios

Great book but I found it to be more geared towards a corporate structure lacking family office scenarios. Though I do understand the legal liability, rarely have I found a small business to care about that, sadly. Still looking for more answers on holding your boss accountable as well. Leadership starts from the top not the other way around.

Decent examples, but outdated male focused POV

Struggling to finish based on frequent examples of female employees with poor conduct needing discipline, being dramatic and/or dressing inappropriately or being distracting at work based on hair styles. The boss is almost always a male in the examples questioning the unprofessional female subordinate distracting and offending men with hair, clothing and or drama.

Great book to have on reference

Not everything will be applicable to you and your experiences but this list is very handy. Each conversation comes with possible outcomes and ways to deal with any differentiation that'll happen. It really made me reconsider how I approach a situation and really made me see the big picture. As a leader, one mistake or a bit of laziness can cause major issues down the line. The constant reminders of doing things properly and going through the correct channels to protect both you and the employee in question really helped.

10/10 for any leader who has to deal with conflict resolution and wants to mentally prepare for any situation that might come up..

Boring and mundane..

Super repetitive for 100 cases which are roughly dealt with the same - yawn..
I finished about half before giving up.

A bad guide

So many of the solutions he offers are outdated, poorly constructed and unrealistic. This strikes me as written by a manager who has never been an employee on a non-leadership role. Completely misses the negative impact on culture and transparency of some of his comments.
