Meet Jay Salam, a Texas native with a lifetime of stories to tell. Born in 1938, Jay's journey is a tapestry of rich experiences, starting with a vibrant career as a professional musician. His early Rockabilly days from 1955 to 1960 were filled with electrifying performances and unforgettable moments, which he’s now chronicling in an upcoming book. From 1960 to 1963, Jay was the factory representative for Rickenbacker Guitars, covering a vast territory that included Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada, and California down to Ventura and Bakersfield. His passion for music led him to Denver in late 1963, where he co-founded a recording studio, continued teaching guitar, and performed with his bands at night. In 1988, Jay and his wife, Patty moved to Las Vegas, gracing the city’s lounges with their musical act for eight years. By 1996, the allure of grandchildren brought them back to Denver, where Jay worked in music stores, learned computers, and even taught courses at Arapahoe Community College. Retirement in 2012 saw Jay returning to Las Vegas, but not one to stay idle, he started The Audiobook Team, which won the prestigious Rone Award for the best Audiobook of 2022. The pandemic became a creative catalyst, inspiring Jay to dive into the world of fiction writing, a passion he now wholeheartedly enjoys. Jay Salam's journey is a testament to a life lived with passion, creativity, and an unyielding love for music and storytelling. Golden Series: Books and Bones--This is the first book about the wonderful characters in Golden, California. I am working hard on the second book. I love small town mysteries. Triad Series: It was so much fun creating a new universe and characters within it, that Book Three of the Triad series will follow shortly.
