Publisher's summary

Never get involved with a client.

Hell, Israel Jonas never gets involved with anyone. For years, his wolf was too wild and broken to handle emotional connections.

But now that his blood brother has found his true mate, Israel is cut adrift. Taking a fluff security gig as a personal bodyguard to a country singer seems like easy money - even if she is a spoiled diva.

Ashley Silver, the "Silver Star", is finally on the brink of the glittering success she's always dreamed of. And after escaping her paranoid, dominating shifter family, the last thing she wants is a hairy Neanderthal bodyguard cramping her style.

But now, she's been targeted by a celebrity stalker - and unless she has 24/7 protection, her family is going to pull the plug on her tour - and her career.

Israel starts out protecting Ashley from the stalker, but he soon discovers that her own people may be the most dangerous threat she faces. And that he's willing to risk everything to keep from losing her....

Contains mature themes.

Love, love the end, gave me some much needed feel good, and laughter. Read this, good medicine for our souls.

Great balls of fie!

I was so sure it was a band mate…..loved the series! Only thing that could have added to it was hearing more about the previous victim a little bit more. I knew he was cunning but didn’t realize by how much.

Johnson jokes bring the fun and the frisky

“What kind of shifter are you, Sasquatch?”
“Is that a banana in your pocket?”
This one found my Goldilocks zone for campy paranormal romance. I especially liked the ongoing bit about wolf shifter Israel’s “grizzlyD.”

“Bodyguard”
“Bonery bodyguard”
“Bonerguard”
“You’re welcome”
This spin-off series has added magic to the mix and that works well with the comic vibe. I was a little worried about the level of angst, given Israel’s tortured backstory. Thankfully, it’s quickly dispensed with, keeping the focus on sassy ball busting.

“What if it wasn’t about control? What if it was about trust? What if it was about letting go and letting someone else give everything to you … what if you didn’t have to do anything except let me love you?”
And yet there was a sexy side with some heart. For a book featuring a music star (not a trope I like) and leaving the other series characters back home, this one still managed to give two likeable MCs and fun and family with Israel’s pack (thanks to some great phone cameos).
