Lily Horne is a drama queen. It's helped her rise to stardom in the school play, but it's also landed her in trouble. Her parents warn her that Florida has to be different. It's a fresh start. No theatrics. But this time, the drama is coming for her. The Hornes' new house is awful. The pool is full of slime; the dock is rotten; and the swamp creeps closer every day. So far in the new life of Lance and Luna Lingmell, they’ve been adopted into a mysterious town called Mistylock, fought vampires, battled evil birds, been turned to stone, discovered lost family, and discovered that magic is real. But terror descends over the town and the Lingmell siblings as they are thrust into adventure once again. A fight against a complete unknown; monsters from another planet. Not only have the aliens come to steal resources from Earth; but they intend to steal the souls of Mistylock first. And it’s up to Lance and Luna to get them back.

When her small town is rocked by a series of baby kidnappings, Teo vows to spend her summer break solving the mystery, and convinces her friend Logan—who would much rather spend his vacation relaxing—to help. Their search for answers soon leads them to the woods at the edge of town, and Teo fears some kind of supernatural creature might be behind the snatchings. What else could explain the creepy figure they see moving through the trees, or the bloodcurdling screams coming from the forest at dusk?
