Roughgarden rejects both junk science based on spurious metaphors and junk religion based on spurious theology. In their place, she offers an inspiring accommodation between thoughtful science and compassionate religion.

It was not my intention to come across offensive in writing the chapters of this audiobook but to represent the creationist and biblical viewpoint in a straightforward fashion, in regard to its opposition to aspects of evolutionary theory. It is my sincere hope that listeners of this audiobook, from either side of the debate regarding Creationism versus the Theory of Evolution, will find inspiration to ponder the points I have offered within its chapters.

The purpose of this book is to consider how Christians may embrace both the science of psychology and Christian theologies by looking at apparent conflicts between science and Christianity in Genesis. In the first chapter, I look at how scholars define psychology and Christianity, general methods Christians rely upon to explain how various biblical texts do not necessarily contradict scientific evidence or professional ethics, and psychological factors that can influence how Christians view the biblical sources underlying their theology and ultimately, their Christian worldview. Within the chapters, I present some of the biggest questions that remain unanswered by the proposed Theory of Evolution. It might be said by proponents of the theory that it is “ridiculous” to question it because science has yielded all of the answers that are needed, to bring substantiation for everything that exists having come from an unguided, non-purposed, undirected impersonal process called “evolution”.
