Story
A thousand years in the future, a Black elite class reigns. The lower classes toil in the fields or scrape by in blighted cities, serving their rulers in a cruel, divided world. Among the Elites is eighteen-year-old Avi Jore, born to a powerful father and destined to rule. But as she comes of age, Avi cannot help but notice the injustices in her world - the treatment of enslaved workers, the oppression of the lower classes. Her disillusionment grows when she meets Saige Wilde, a mixed-race enslaved girl whose only goal is escaping beyond the borders of their brutal nation.

Story
As the unpopular regime of Cameroonian head of State Paul Biya cracks down on a popular protest by the people of the English-speaking regions of the country, the world wonders why a country that is Africa’s Number One Football (Soccer) Playing Nation, one that just won the continent’s most prestigious and most coveted sports trophy (The African Cup of Nations), and one that the powers that be would like to sell as the oasis of peace in a turbulent continent, would undermine the part of the country that realized its reunification. The area that was Südwesten Kamerun when the ...

Story
One of the lesser-known stories of the Civil War is the role played by escaped slaves in the Union blockade along the Atlantic coast. From the beginning of the war, many African American refugees sought avenues of escape to the North. Due to their sheer numbers, those who reached Union forces presented a problem for the military. Fortunately, the First Confiscation Act of 1861 permitted the seizure of property used in support of the South's war effort, including slaves. Eventually regarded as contraband of war, the runaways became known as contrabands.

Story
DuBois takes on the labor unions in this essay. He confesses that he had always inveighed against color discrimination by employers and by the rich. He knew at the same time in silence that it was practically impossible for any colored man or woman to become a boiler maker, book binder, electrical worker, a plumber or a printer or a textile worker, carpenter, or any of a dozen other important employments, without encountering the determined opposition of the united labor movement.
