How do you save the world when you can’t see it? Earth was destroyed. In order to survive, some choose to join high-tech communities. Those who didn't were left to fend for themselves on a hideous and decimated planet. Two separate worlds: the Real and the Unreal.

Channel’s world is unreal. She lives in Paradise 3 Community—an augmented reality where retinal implants are used to hide the Real world, hideous and decimated by an eruption years prior. After training her whole life to become a World Builder, Channel’s dreams are dashed when a new implant technology emerges that alters the senses, and her skills are rendered virtually useless. Or so she thinks.

As newly converted members of the Coalition, Channel and Aave infiltrate their prior home in an attempt to access Cerebrolink’s secrets. After struggling to survive in the Real world, Channel once again finds herself in Paradise 3, where absolutely anything goes. She knows her mission. But the Unreal World was designed to make people forget.

After surviving the escape from P3, Channel and Alek travel with the Coalition to regroup and mount another digital attack—this time with the proof they need. But they aren’t the only ones who want to see the end of the Communities’ reign.

Tasked with building a new system for both Reals and Unreals, the Coalition makes plans to travel back to Southwest Territory and Paradise 3 Community.
