Bethany Carlisle has been summoned home to Texas, along with her two estranged sisters, Tracy and Jennifer, to settle the estate of their abusive father, Jonas. After raising his family in poverty and turmoil in the dilapidated embarrassment that he had the nerve to call a bed and breakfast, Jonas had somehow turned it all around after his wife had died and his daughters had fled from him. Cozy Cabins, now better known as The Sea View, is considered to be one of the top 10 resorts in the country and is worth a fortune; a fortune the sisters are about to inherit.
Only, it's not that simple. Rather than simply selling each of their stakes and returning to their own lives like all three sisters would prefer, Jonas had just one stipulation in his will: to receive their fair share, the sisters had to remain at The Sea View and play an active role in its daily management. Failure to do so would result in the forfeit of their portion of the inheritance; an inheritance worth tens of millions of dollars each.
So, rather than each heading back to her own life with a fat check and a fading memory of what was once home, the sisters are thrown together in an endeavor for which none of them is qualified. Luckily, they have Jonas's old partner, Greyson Merrick, to show them the ropes. Only Greyson, who was led to believe by his unscrupulous partner that he was first in line to inherit the resort, is not so keen on sharing the wealth.
But as he comes to grips with the change in plans, Greyson realizes that there's something far more intriguing than money in his midst: Bethany. And when an anonymous note shows up at the resort demanding $5 million, the writer claiming that Jonas had swindled him as well, Bethany is thankful for Greyson's presence. And as they struggle to figure out who is behind the demands and subsequent attacks, an unlikely love blossoms that seems to have arrived in each of their lives at the perfect time. They have no choice but to give in.
