High school twin brothers Mark and Huck Derringer host a small but successful ghost-hunting web series with their mutual best friend, Jasper. While Mark and Jasper are convinced the things they see go bump in the night are real, Huck argues fiercely against it, insisting what they capture is easily explained away. Because if it was real, that would mean the horrifying things he sees at the edge of his vision every day are real….

Summer is over and tensions are high between the boys as Huck falls deeper into depression, ignoring Arkin's own experience. After a fight, the boys plan a road trip to Colorado for mountain biking, camping, and to finally discuss their trauma. But Huck never appears to pick Arkin up. Worried about his best friend, Arkin calls the police and informs Holly. Two days later, Arkin is convinced Huck has been kidnapped, though he has no proof.

Huck’s powers are growing stronger, but are also growing out of his control. Just months after escaping the Beldam’s basement, Huck is plagued by visions, dreams, and waking nightmares he cannot control. One of the things he sees is a secret group of people that seem to want one thing: him dead. On top of that, Huck learns that one of his closest friends might a witch and that vampires roam the streets at night. With school taking off and his mind still broken and shattered from the month of torture, Huck battles not only his inner demons but all the monsters outside as well.
