When 17-year-old Imorean Frayneson receives a scholarship to Gracepointe University in Norway, he’s a bit surprised: he doesn't even remember applying. When he arrives, he notices odd things: gates that lock at night, staff that refuse to give straight answers and most disturbing of all, a spectral creature that seems to be haunting him. Before long, Imorean finds himself caught up in a sinister plan – one created seventeen years ago – that threatens to destroy the life he knew and expose the secret truth of who he really is.

Imorean Frayneson’s old world has been destroyed. His university and the faculty have deceived him. Pulled into a paranormal world run by Archangels, Imorean finds himself dragged into the role of a soldier, and standing in the middle of a war. His life is complicated further by friends, breakups, academics and overcoming his great fear of heights. Bewildered by change, Imorean struggles to hold on to what is normal, but when angels and demons begin to clash he is forced to accept his new reality.

As if being the only Archangel-human hybrid in the world wasn’t overwhelming enough for Imorean Frayneson, the demon general Vortigern also happens to hold a murderous grudge against him. Battle looms on the horizon, angels turn on each other, and Imorean finds difficulty even among his friends...not to mention, his new range of powers are nearly uncontrollable. When he finds himself alone and facing his hardest battle yet, even Imorean doesn’t know if he has any chance of survival.

Haunted by fears of the future and nightmares of his past, human-Archangel hybrid Imorean Frayneson starts to realize how far from his own humanity and how deep into the world of angels and demons he has truly drifted.
