This audiobook is a transcription and reproduction of the training course materials from course number seven, The Science of Longevity. Science and medical research can tell us a lot about longevity. This includes the history of how humanity has more than doubled our average lifespan since 1900. Long-lived plants and animals also have lot of relevant information on different aspects of longevity, since they are our genetic brothers.

Humans have dreamed of travelling to the stars for as long as we knew that those points of light in the sky were stars like the Sun. Now, in the 21st century, there are actual studies and plans to send interstellar space probes to the nearest stars. Probably to Alpha Centauri which is only 4.3 light years away. Only! What is the history of plans to get to the nearest star? And what are the plans today to make these ideas a reality?

There is a lot of interest these days in space exploration. After 50 years, we are looking at going back to the Moon to build a base and planning early for a manned trip to Mars. After that, further exploration and settlement of the Solar System will be on the table. These two phenomena seem inextricably linked since they both involve teleportation through space and possibly quantum entanglement (which is covered in a later chapter).
