The Emerald City of Oz is the sixth Oz book. In this book, Dorothy and the Wizard take Aunt Em and Uncle Henry on a tour of Oz. During their journey they encounter such amazing and amusing people as King Kleaver with his Spoon Brigade and Miss Cuttenclip of the land of paper dolls. But while Dorothy and her friends play, the wicked Nome King has joined forces with the terrible Whimsies, the fearsome Growleywogs, and the evil Phanfasms in a plot to capture the Emerald City.

A California earthquake sends Dorothy Gale and her new friends--Zeb the farm boy, Jim the cab-horse, and Eureka the mischievous kitten--tumbling through a crack in the ground. Deep beneath the earth, Dorothy is reunited with her old friend the Wizard of Oz and his troupe of nine tiny piglets.

A patchwork doll comes to life, and Dorothy, the Tin Woodsman, and a host of new characters have enchanting adventures in the land of Oz. After a doll made out of a patchwork quilt is brought to life by a magician, she must find a way to break a spell that has turned two victims into motionless statues. A boy, the Patchwork Girl, and Bungle the Glass Cat go on a mission to find the ingredients for a charm that will transform the people back to life.

"The Marvelous Land of Oz", published in 1904, is the second of L. Frank Baum's books set in the Land of Oz. As always, a lot of eccentric and fantastic things take place; such as a boy creating a magic sawhorse and making a pumpkin-headed man into a living, kind (but dumb) person...! Be prepared also to encounter a particularly wicked witch, as well as the good old Scarecrow.

Cap'n Bill and Trot journey to Oz and, with the help of the Scarecrow, the former ruler of Oz, overthrow the villainous King Krewl of Jinxland. Cap'n Bill and Trot had previously appeared in two other novels by Baum, The Sea Fairies and Sky Island. Based in part upon the 1914 silent film, His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz. This was allegedly L. Frank Baum's personal favourite Oz book.

Ozma of Oz is the third oz book. When a storm blows Dorothy to the land of Ev, where lunches grow on trees, she meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and Princess Ozma, and together they set out to free the Queen of Ev and her 10 children. The story features a wicked nome king who has enchanted the queen and her children.

Princess Ozma is missing! When Dorothy awakens one morning to discover that the beloved ruler of the Land of Oz has disappeared, all of the Emerald City's most celebrated citizens join in the search for the lost princess. But Ozma isn't all that's gone missing. The magical treasures of Oz have disappeared, too, including the Magic Picture, the Wizard's black bag, and even Glinda's Great Book of Records. With no clues to guide them, Ozma's friends separate into four search parties and spread out across their vast country in a desperate quest for their absent ruler.

Published on June 20, 1916, with full-color and black-and-white illustrations by artist John R. Neill, it is significant that no one from Oz appears in the book until its climax; this is due to Baum's having originally written most of the book as an original fantasy novel over ten years earlier, in 1905. Most of the action takes place on three islands - Pingaree, Regos, and Coregos - and within the Nome King's caverns.

Woot the Wanderer finds himself at the home of the Tin Woodman of Oz and desires to hear the story of how a woodman made of tin could come to be. The Tin Woodman tells the tale of how he was once Nick Chopper, a man of flesh and blood, in love with a young girl named Nimmie Amee. The Wicked Witch of the East was not happy about this and so she enchanted his axe and had him cut off his limbs one at a time, which were replaced with limbs made of tin.

Professor Wogglebug gets the characters of Oz thinking about their genealogy and where they came from because he wants to write The Royal Book of Oz recording all this information. This topic especially upsets the Scarecrow, as he knows that he was discovered by Dorothy hanging from a beanpole in a cornfield and he thinks that this mean he can't possibly have a family history. Woggleburg agrees and hurts Scarecrow's feelings by noting that because of Dorothy's discovery, Scarecrow has no family tree and should get the slightest mention in their Royal Book of Oz.

The first of many sequels to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz follows Tip, who is escaping from the sorceress Mombi. On his way to the Emerald City, hoping to start a new life, he creates Jack Pumpkinhead and the Wooden Sawhorse. Once the companions arrive in the Emerald City, they discover an army of girls have overthrown King Scarecrow. Joining with Scarecrow, they set off to find Tin Man, and ask Glinda for help setting things right. But first, Tip must find out who he is....

Dorothy and others - such as Eureka (her cat), Zeb (her cousin) - are riding a buggy being pulled by a cab-horse named Jim, when suddenly they are swallowed up by cracks in the earth, and fall into an underground cavern, where they begin their adventures, including meeting a race of people made entirely out of vegetables... this will be the least strange part of this wonderful story!
