Bunny girls do not live in libraries. This is simply common sense. And yet, that’s exactly where Sakuta finds one in the wild. More bewildering is who the bunny girl is: Mai Sakurajima, a girl one year older than Sakuta, famous at their school for her acting career even though she’s currently on break. To top it all off, it seems like no one else in the library can see Mai at all, no matter what she does or...wears.

Mai is in danger, and the only clue Sakuta has is a cryptic message from himself saying he needs to find Touko Kirishima. The problem is that even though he knows how to contact her, Touko seems completely uninterested in helping him. There must be another way. The answer might lie with his new student, Sara Himeji, a first-year at Minegahara who may have gotten her own little supernatural present.

A miniskirt-wearing Santa appears before Sakuta, calling herself Touko Kirishima and cheerfully informing him that she’s been handing out presents—Adolescence Syndrome. Apparently, one of the lucky winners is Sakuta’s classmate from middle school, Ikumi Akagi. According to urban legend, posts tagged #dreaming are filled with prophetic visions, and Ikumi is using those posts to play hero. Sakuta sees the results of this first hand when he spots her saving someone.

Sakuta is doomed. His girlfriend, Mai, has just discovered that while she was away, he’s been living under one roof with his first love, the now-college-aged Shouko. While the three of them try to navigate this complicated love triangle, the mystery surrounding Shouko only deepens when the younger version of herself checks into the hospital. What will become of this middle schooler whose only dream is to grow up? Why did Sakuta’s old flame come barging into his life again after all this time? And exactly how does Sakuta fit in?
