There are few characters in literature more iconic than J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. It made me think about the joys and losses of growing up, the darker side of children ("gay and innocent and heartless"), the power and depth of parental love, and the secret kisses we all keep inside that only someone special can unlock.
