On a warm September morning, an unconscious man is found in a cage at the entrance to the offices of one of the biggest German newspapers. Ein ungewöhnlich warmer Septembermorgen auf St. Pauli. Nackt, bewusstlos und offensichtlich misshandelt. Drei Tage später steht der nächste Käfig vorm Verlag, diesmal liegt der Geschäftsführer drin. Staatsanwältin Chastity Riley, die von ihren Chefs hin und wieder von der Leine gelassen wird, und ihr neuer, undurchsichtiger Kollege Stepanovic glauben zunächst an einen Racheakt der Verlagsmitarbeiter.
