A group of students who attend the Utah high school where the original High School Musical movies were filmed prepare for their fall production of High School Musical. Ricky and Nini, who play Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, share chemistry on and off the stage, but with their understudies E.J. and Gina plotting to take over their roles, will these talented performers make it to opening night?

Abby would be your typical teenager - that is, if she wasn't part of a secret organization tasked with tracking down meta-humans. She doesn't agree with what she's doing, but when Agent Smith tells her she will be infiltrating a school to find a dangerous meta, she knows she has no choice because disobeying means that her brother will end up in their special meta-human prison. When she meets her target, she realized that he is not as dangerous as she was led to believe.

Cameron, the Schools leading senior drama student, seeks out Laura, the new girl to audition for the end of year production of Wicked, the Musical. Set through the back drop of rehearsals, the two strike up a friendship quickly becoming inseparable. Battling with her feelings, Laura keeps her reasons for getting kicked out of her last school a secret. Until her best friend 'outs her' in the middle of opening night. Can these two be something more than friends? Will they be accepted, or will the world of theatre be the only relationship they can have?
