Problems in the sexual relationship are one of the top reasons that couples get divorced, both inside and outside of the Church. Many faithful members have sought out counsel and direction from books, bishops, and therapists. Yet a large portion still complains of low levels of sexual satisfaction or dysfunction, which pull at the marital bond and covenant marriage. Dr. Anthony A. Hughes, LMFT, is a noted sex therapist and devoted member of the LDS church. Here, he shares his vast knowledge and clinical experience for LDS couples.

Cannon, who was a member of the First Presidency, desired to produce a series of books that would both teach faith and other important gospel principles as well as be entertaining enough that youth would be willing to read them. The results were some of the most important and widest read books in the early-LDS cannon.

Parley P. Pratt wrote A Voice of Warning over a two-month period while on a mission to New York. The economy in Kirtland was collapsing, and dissension was rife among Church members. Even Parley became caught up in the dissension and was for a time estranged to Joseph Smith. In an act of renewal, Parley went to New York to preach the gospel and purify himself. With few doors open to him, Parley focused himself on writing, producing A Voice of Warning.

Coray worked with her husband to compile these books of notes and other sources into a manuscript, which was then copied. Although surrounded by a great deal of controversy when first published by Orson Pratt in 1853, it was later published by the Church under the direction of Joseph F. Smith. It has been called "one of the essential sources for Mormon origins" by Richard L. Anderson, and in the words of Leonard Arrington it "perhaps tells more about Mormon origins than any other single source."

There is coming a great division in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has been prophesied by prophets of old and warned about by modern-day prophets. There have already been divisions by The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, now just called The Church of Christ and the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And there have been groups that have left the Church or have been excommunicated from the Church. But there will be a fourth division.

Parley P. Pratt began to work on The Key to the Science of Theology in San Francisco in August 1851, just before leaving for his mission to Chile. He continued writing it while in Chile. He finished the manuscript upon his return to Utah in 1853. The manuscript remained unpublished, however, until 1855 when Parley found a publisher in England. Parley's book represented a lifetime of thought and built on ideas first propounded in Pratt's earlier writings, especially missionary tracts stemming from his years in England. The impact of The Key to the Science of Theology was unparalleled. One Latter-day Saint diarist of the 19th century observed: "We had every encouragement to read the Church publications: The Voice of Warning; the Pearl of Great Price; and Key to Theology."
