Apple might introduce a cheaper model in the future. Even with the initial 80,000 units sold out, it still represents a tiny fraction (0.007 percent) of Apple's 1.2 billion active users.

To sustain demand, Apple is working on demo areas at its US flagship stores, hoping to attract more buyers. The global launch is rumored to be before this year's WWDC, likely in June.
