  • THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT MARRIAGE SHOULD BE—AND WHY HAPPINESS ISN’T ENOUGH
    May 1 2025
Segment 1 A viral marriage rant sparks discussion on modern narcissism in relationships. A wife feels burned out from marriage and motherhood, claiming women carry the lion's share of home responsibilities. Despite a seemingly "amazing" husband, she struggles with feelings of being undervalued. Segment 2 Three main issues emerge: feelings of being "undervalued," misconceptions about marriage, and unrealistic expectations. Misunderstanding "love" as a feeling instead of a commitment can cause friction in relationships. Brad Bigney's perspective: Marriage requires intentional work and understanding, not just passive affection. Segment 3 The primary goal of marriage isn’t happiness, it’s holiness. Christian marriage calls for humility, and sometimes "sorry" is enough. Many people struggle with selfishness in marriage, and humility is the key to thriving relationships. Segment 4 Her story reflects a modern obsession with personal happiness at the cost of marriage's true purpose. The idol of happiness demands more than any marriage can give. The Christian marriage isn’t about being equitable; it’s about oneness. – Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme – Thanks for listening! • BRILLIANT MINDS. BLURRY TRUTH. WHY COLLEGE STUDENTS STILL NEED JESUS.
    Apr 30 2025
It’s Witness Wednesday! Todd Friel is at Georgia Tech to talk with students about faith, morality, and the Gospel. Todd emphasizes Christian teachings, using questions to explore concepts of creation, evil, conscience, and salvation through Jesus Christ. Segment 1: • Jose, a mechanical engineering student, wonders how the universe began—leans toward random chance. • Todd argues design demands a Designer, comparing creation to Jose’s sesame chicken. • Jose admits he's agnostic but open—he wants “proof” before accepting a Creator. Segment 2: • Todd walks Jose walks through the Ten Commandments and Jose admits guilt, agreeing he'd be judged guilty. • Todd presents the gospel: Jesus took Jose’s punishment, offering forgiveness through repentance and faith. • Jose is intrigued but unsure, doubting whether humans can truly know what's true. Segment 3: • Robert identifies as Machiavellian, believes people are mostly good despite moral failures. • Todd highlights Robert's sin (e.g. 5,000 lustful thoughts), arguing goodness isn’t enough. • Robert believes Jesus died for sinners but hasn't repented—he admits it's worth pondering. Segment 4: • Student asks: “What’s the point of life?” Claims moral living is enough without religion. • Admits to sin but believes intentions and regret soften the guilt. • Todd explains the gospel and challenges him to investigate if it’s true—eternity is at stake. – Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme – Thanks for listening! • WHY THE GOSPEL MUST BE OUR HILL TO DIE ON
    Apr 29 2025
Segment 1 • The Fortis Institute must focus on the Gospel above all else—it's the foundation of everything we do. • Why did Jesus die? Jonathan Pokluda explains the Gospel's judicial nature—it's not just a story, but a legal matter. • The death of Christ is about more than sacrifice; it's about satisfying God's justice. Segment 2 • The Local Church is essential—every Christian has a role to play in serving others. • Church isn’t about what you take, but how you give and serve the body of believers. • Kevin DeYoung emphasizes that works follow faith, but don’t contribute to salvation. Segment 3 • A Ventura City Council meeting was disrupted when a woman praying was heckled. • The mayor and council members' response shows a growing hostility toward public displays of faith. • Christian leaders must be bold in calling out these attacks on religious freedom. Segment 4 • Evangelical-Catholic unity continues to raise concerns—many worry it's leading to compromise on key issues. • Texas' school choice plan has sparked debates on the use of tax dollars for public education. • The autism debate is heating up again, with RFK reigniting questions about its rise and potential causes. – Preorder the new book, Lies My Therapist Told Me, by Fortis Institute Fellow Dr. Greg Gifford now! https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/liesmytherapisttoldme – Thanks for listening! A Faithful Christian Ministry

Wretched Radio is faithful to the commission of our Lord to make disciples of the nations.

Not only is this a Gospel-centered show, the Witness Wednesday episodes have the host of the show, Todd Friel, going to college campuses in his area and, you guessed it, sharing the Good News of Christ with them.

The ministry is involved in supporting many domestic and global missions as well. Overall, just excellent.

The show is entertaining, current with news, and even has a weekly mailbag episode.

Love this guy!!!

This guy loves to address personal problems and societal issues with Biblical truth and he makes the fix sound so obvious (at least to me).

Typical Baptist Take of Evangelical Issues

Todd, if nothing else, is very entertaining. If you want to keep abreast of what's going on in evangelicalism, listen to this podcast.

The downside is, he's a fundamentalist Baptist and his views reflect a Baptist understanding of issues and theology. Not everything a Baptist says is incorrect (broken clocks are right 2x a day) but that is the perspective he brings.
