  • [Movie Review] The Ballad of Wallis Island
    Sep 11 2025

In this episode we discuss the storyline and themes from the film The Ballad of Wallis Island. Brought to a windswept Welsh island to play a private gig, folk music duo McGwyer Mortimer revisit their mismatched dreams and reasons for breaking up the band. Through beautiful music, lonely landscapes, and quirky character interactions we explore themes of regret, loss, letting go, and loving again.

  • A Friend for Every Season
    Sep 4 2025

Friendship changes as much as we do over the years. In this episode, we get a little nostalgic about our earliest playmates, our situational sideline pals, and our long-lasting authentic friends. We share the challenges of staying connected in busy times, and highlight why friendship is essential to human thriving. With a few personal stories about baseball and hula hoops, we reflect on our gratefulness for the friendships that have shaped our lives.

There is something so comforting and beautiful about the way they discuss the topic, share their experiences and relate to one another. I know David and Tara personally and really enjoyed the glimpses into their relationship, experiences and the encouragement they gave in the podcasts (I listened to several in a row!). "Embrace the Place" is particularly relevant to my family right now and really spoke to me. Thank you both!

Relatable, funny and helpful!

I may be biased, but after just listening to the trailer, I am sure that this is the world’s greatest podcast. Ok, maybe not THE greatest podcast (RadioLab was pretty good) but definitely up there. Top 50? Listen and decided for your self. Definitely in the top 100–there are also a lot of terrible podcasts out there; I don’t think that top 100 is too unreasonable. And if not the top 100, it will for sure be in the top 500. There is no way it will get knocked out of that bracket. If it doesn’t show up in the Top Podcasts USA browsing category, then that is confirmation of corruption in the system. I guess we will find out.
