When the (Germanic) Hammer Falls

The Roman provinces of Gallia and Germania were Flourishing semi-urban regions. Until the Germanic numbers overwhelmed and destroyed the last pillars of the classic period. For what it's worth, we're going into the Medieval times. Not yet though, cause an Empire such as the Roman one isn't destroyed with a whiff, and not completely either. We introduce peoples, cultures and social characteristics that will be so important for the Medieval inhabitants of the Netherlands and therefore the cornerstones of the Netherlands today. I recommend the Netflix film 'The Last Legion', which is, again, not quite accurate but still gives a good general impression of this time.
