  • Resumen

  • Why Black History Matters

Celebrating Black history and sharing cultural resources is crucial for promoting accuracy in historical context, combating stereotypes, celebrating achievements, empowering communities, fostering understanding and inspiring action towards a more just and equitable society. Also highlighting Black art is essential for preserving cultural heritage, promoting recognition and appreciation, increasing representation and visibility, infusion in education, building community, and empowering individuals and communities to express themselves creatively and authentically. We celebrate Black History Month with all educators, artists, and allies exploring the works of Black artists/educators, who have used their talents to express the triumphs, struggles and experiences of the Black community.
