  • Your closet is full of a life you don’t live anymore - and what do do about it
    Apr 6 2026

It’s spring cleaning, Thrivesters and today’s episode started as a closet clean-out conversation.

But boy did we change course – and quickly.

What started out as “three tips to help streamline your closet cleanout” quickly became a powerful conversation about identity.

Today we welcome back wardrobe stylist Elisa Ellis, and we get into the real reason your closet feels overwhelming – AND what to actually do about it.

We keep it practical. Tactical. Doable.

We also go where this always goes as we talk about who you were, who you thought you’d be and who you actually are now.

Because your closet is a timeline, Thrivesters.

And if you’re not careful, you’re walking into a version of yourself every day that no longer fits.

    A few highlights:

    • Why closet clutter is rarely about “too many clothes”
    • The subtle identity gap that keeps you holding on to things you don’t wear
    • The difference between liking something… and actually wearing it
    • Why “I spent money on it” is one of the biggest traps

We’ll link everything to Elisa in the show notes and if you’re ready for some style support, she’s your person.

And if this episode hit you?

    Text a friend.
    Send it to her.
Or better yet… invite her over and clean out one drawer together.

Now go out there and thrive like you mean it. 🐝

  • The One Decision That Made Me Rethink Everything
    Mar 13 2026

    This episode almost didn’t happen.

Not because there wasn’t something to say - but because I caught myself doing the very thing I’ve spent years helping women stop doing: performing instead of living.

A five-hour drive home from Maine turned into a much bigger wake-up call about agency, perception, and the quiet ways we abandon our own needs.

This conversation is raw, real-time reflection - the kind that happens when you notice your own patterns and decide you’re done with them.

Because before renewal comes something else: shedding.

And sometimes the thing we need to shed most is the pressure we put on ourselves.

How many times have you said to yourself “I’ll just do it?” It sounds harmless. Responsible, even. But over time, those small moments of self-abandonment add up - and they quietly pull you away from the life you say you want to live.

If you're entering a new season of your life…

What are you no longer willing to do?

What habits, obligations, or patterns are you carrying simply because you always have?

Because the life you want to create - the one where you truly thrive - requires space.

And sometimes the most powerful move you can make is simply stopping something that no longer serves you.

A gentle reminder for you, Thrivesters…

    Thriving means:

    • Living in full alignment with your values
    • Setting boundaries that protect your energy
    • Honoring your truth without apology
    • Creating rituals that sustain you
    • Knowing exactly what you need to live your best life

And sometimes the hardest boundaries to set are the ones we set with ourselves.

Now go thrive like you mean it. 🐝

  • I Went on Safari… and Came Home With 3 Life Lessons I Can’t Unlearn
    Mar 6 2026

What happens when you step completely out of your routine - and into the wild?

In this episode, I’m back from my bucket-list safari in Africa with three unexpected lessons that HIT HARD. Between hot air balloons drifting with the wind, lions roaring just feet away, and a powerful human connection with someone from a completely different world, this trip became more than an adventure - it became the reset I didn’t know I needed.

If you're someone who plans everything, optimizes everything, and carries a lot of responsibility (sound familiar?), these insights might stop you in your tracks - in the best way possible.

    Today I’m talking about:

    1. What happens when you stop steering your life for a moment.
A sunrise hot-air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara delivered a surprising realization: sometimes freedom comes from not controlling everything.

    2. Why the animals on safari offered a masterclass in presence.
Watching wildlife live moment-to-moment revealed how much we overcomplicate life and how powerful it can be to simply be where your feet are.

    3. The unexpected connection that became the most memorable moment of the trip.
A quiet interaction with a Maasai guide named Dominic became a powerful reminder that human connection transcends language, culture, and circumstance.

Inspired by the stillness of the safari, I made a commitment to myself:

10 minutes a day of mindfulness.

    Not perfection.
Not hour-long meditation sessions.Just ten minutes to reset, breathe, and quiet the noise of a world that often feels overwhelming.

    And the surprising part?
It’s becoming the part of the day I look forward to the most.

So Thrivesters here’s my challenge to you this week (pick one)

    • Let the wind take you somewhere - leave space in your schedule for the unexpected.
    • Be where your feet are - practice presence instead of constant multitasking.
    • Seek out connection - because the most meaningful moments often come from the simplest interactions.

Now go out there and thrive like you mean it.

  • Boundaries, Agency and the Year of the Fire Horse
    Feb 6 2026

We’re back, Thrivesters - and this episode is your line in the sand.

As we step into the Year of the Fire Horse, the energy around us is undeniable: momentum, movement, transformation, and bold possibility. But here’s the truth most people miss-
    powerful energy without boundaries =burnout.

Today we're talking about how to ride the energy of this year, not be dragged by it.

We’re talking about agency - your ability to choose how you show up, what you tolerate, and what you’re no longer available for.

Because growth without grounding isn’t growth. It’s chaos.

And the tool that makes all of this possible?
    Boundaries.

    In this episode, we cover:

🔥 What the Year of the Fire Horse really represents -and why 2026 isn’t the year to play small
🔥 Why boundaries are the highest form of self-love (and the most misunderstood)
🔥 How to set boundaries at work without damaging relationships
🔥 The power of behavioral boundaries - when action speaks louder than announcements
🔥 Real-life examples of boundaries with bosses, colleagues, family, friends, and houseguests
🔥 Why resentment is often a signal that a boundary is overdue
🔥 How rituals are actually boundaries you set with yourself - and why honoring them changes everything
🔥 The truth about self-betrayal, burnout, and why we’re quickest to break promises to ourselves
🔥 How protecting your energy improves sleep, focus, peace, and clarity (yes, even 100% sleep scores)

If this year is asking you to move faster, think bigger, and live more intentionally, boundaries are what keep you anchored in your truth while everything else accelerates.

    Ready to go deeper?

✨ I’ve linked a simple boundary script in the show notes to help you practice setting clear, kind boundaries that actually stick.
✨ If you’re honoring a ritual that’s changing how you feel or live, tag me on Instagram @nancy_medoff - I love seeing what’s working for you.

    Sep 13 2022

You can't open a blog, website or news article without someone talking about quiet quitting. In this episode, we discuss why this is trending, what it really means, and how we can all take responsibility for our happiness and instead of quiet quitting, try quiet committing.

Hey, Podsters! We are back, and we are all about boundaries this week! Right in time for Thanksgiving...

I am beyond thrilled to welcome back the amazing Barb Nangle; Boundary Boss, for today’s episode and buckle up, Podsters because we are diving head first into ALL THINGS BOUNDARIES.

    Such as:

Why boundaries are so important any time, and specifically during the holiday season.

As you know, boundaries have been a game-changer for me, and when Barb was here last time – I could not keep up with your incredible feedback. So, I invited her back, and together we are hosting a Boundary Bootcamp next week. That’s right – if you find yourself wanting more after listening today, or if you already KNOW you want more – we are setting you up to replace that holiday fear with holiday cheer.

Why are we doing this? Well, setting boundaries, especially during the holidays, can be challenging. Today we unpack why people find it so hard to establish limits. Guilt, shame, family expectations—these are the ongoing boundary struggles.

And, bonus! We share our own personal experiences when establishing boundaries, including Barb's huge realization during her 12-step recovery journey. She discovered that setting boundaries isn't about controlling others, as changing someone else is beyond your control. Boundaries are about establishing how YOU will live. What YOU will accept and how you will communicate what is and is not ok. That responsibility lies with you.

Did you know it’s okay to completely opt out of family gatherings? And, you can set a time limit on how willing you are to participate in the gathering.

Here’s the thing: YOU get to decide what is best for you. In this episode we have a brief role play where I get to challenge Barb as our most difficult relative might also do…and she handles it like a BOSS.

    Amazing. Am I right?

The holidays are a time when many of us feel obligated to let go of our own boundaries for fear of what other people will think and feel. If this sounds like you – here’s one thing you can do to make this easier. Be quick and be kind with your boundaries; be polite, and offer alternatives when “NO” is not an option.

The key thing we want you to remember here is to focus on yourself. It’s okay to seek approval and let’s also ensure you are approving of how you live YOUR life first.

Boundaries are about self-love, not controlling others.

So, if you're navigating the holiday chaos, join us on November 15th for the Boundary Bootcamp. It's time to reclaim your holidays, Podsters!

  • Radiate Confidence and Own the Room; Using Body Language to Catapult Your Executive Presence EP71
    Oct 10 2023

Step into your strengths, light that spark and show up with clarity and confidence with a monthly shot of confidence and actionable tools in my (free!) Confidence Community. Sign Up

You know who she is, the woman who owns the room without even saying a word. She radiates confidence and seems so very sure of herself, in any situation.

Well Podsters, today we are sharing the deets on how she does it. We will explore how body language impacts your self-confidence and also, how your body language says it all before you even say a word.

After today’s episode you will be locked and loaded to share your message like a boss while staying true to who you are.

So, what can you do to own the room?

1 – Make sure you’re comfortable and not trying to wear something that you *think* will look and feel good. The more comfortable you are, the less you will pull, tug and worry about what you’re wearing. When comes to owning that stage, size does not matter so get the bigger size if it’s more comfortable.

2 - If you’re looking for unshakable confidence, try power posing. That is, taking up physical space. If it’s a meeting room, spread out your work. If you’re on stage – walk around and dominate that space!

3 – Be mindful of your body language. This is a natural next step to taking up space. What's your body saying? Are you power posing? Arms open? Hands moving? Doing something with your body that you would naturally do when you’re with friends or family will automatically release your confidence factor which is the number one way to command attention.

Remember, our mantra here at Unmute Yourself is to Speak Up, Stand Out and Step Up and your body language is the perfect opportunity to literally step in to who you know you are meant to be.

    We’re rooting for you!

Send your feedback, topics you'd like to hear more about, and of course, rave reviews of how the podcast is going. Here's how to reach me:

  • Five Ways to Say No (Without the Drama) EP173
    Dec 5 2025

It’s December, Thrivesters, which means we are officially in the season where six months of living gets crammed into three weeks and somehow we’re all expected to smile, sparkle, and simultaneously attend 47 events with matching pajamas and homemade cookies.

Spoiler Alert: You cannot do all the things.

    And neither can I.

In today’s episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the years I used to run myself ragged hosting full-blown holiday extravaganzas - ice sculptures, champagne fountains, disco lights, custom cocktail napkins. Yes, in a Boston apartment. Yes, while I was flying around delivering keynotes and eating airport dinners.

    And they were FUN…

    Until they weren’t.

Eventually, the holidays became less “joyful celebration” and more “why am I sweating through December while everyone else is sipping mulled wine?” So I stopped. And wow, did people have feelings about it. (I still get the Devil Wears Prada up-and-down look every year. You know the one.)

    Truth bomb for you Thrivesters:

    You’re allowed to say no.

You’re allowed to protect your energy.

And you’re allowed to enjoy a holiday season that doesn’t leave you looking like the cat who touched the light socket.

Today I’m giving you five no-BS, drama-free ways to say NO - with kindness, with clarity, with confidence, and without ghosting people or offering panicked explanations.

December wants to pull you in a thousand directions and this episode hands you the scripts, the confidence, and the permission to choose where your energy goes this season - and where it absolutely does not.

Because protecting your peace is not rude, selfish, or dramatic.

    It’s leadership.

    It’s maturity.

    It’s growth.

And it’s exactly how you step into 2026 as the YOU, you actually want to be.

The next episode is a special one, so make sure you’re subscribed… it’s going to be GOOD.

Now go thrive like you mean it.
