Ah! The '80s! When rock ruled the radio and the music video came of age. And while Thrash was moshing away in sweaty clubs and Death Metal was just a whisper, one genre ruled the airwaves and the TV screens. Hair Metal. Sleaze Rock. Glam. Or whatever you want to call it, it was everywhere. We here at Worship Metal would be utterly remiss if we didn't cover this monster of a sub-genre that brought so many into the metal fold. Chris, Blake and Si revisit a steamy '80s nightclub to relive the DJ playlist that defined the decade. Whether you were a Thrasher or a Heavy Metaller or a student Goth this will be a walk back down memory lane. This.... This is genuinely a good one! We think Si had his best day....

Thrash! Born in the 80s, had a "let's not talk about it" in the 90s and then in the early 2000s came back with a vengeance. Ish. The middle-aged man of the metal scene was confused by the young kids with their -core and their nu- but shook its moshing stick and said "It was better in my day!" and then proceeded to show everyone why that was true. We've spoken about Thrash more than any other genre but this episode is ONLY to celebrate the 21st Century re-incarnation and the bands and tracks that brought the greatest of all metal genres (citation needed) back to the pits. THRASH!

Doom.... The sludgy, down-tuned and most glacial of all metal offerings, Doom is one of those genres that never gets played at weddings or the fresh veg aisle of your local Tesco. And we disagree with that. Here at The Worship Metal Podcast, Chris Blake and Si will take you on a doomy journey through everything about this niche musical summoning. And to be honest we had an one of the most emotional journeys ever in a podcast! Even if you don't think you can get along with Doom, well ... This is a good one...
