The Wheel May Have Been Invented 6,000 Years Ago in Europe

Copper miners in the Carpathian Mountains may have invented the wheel to transport ore more easily.Archaeological evidence of wheels and wheeled vehicles appears frequently during the Bronze Age (around 5000 - 3000 BCE) across Europe, Asia, and North Africa. This includes depictions of battle scenes on walls, miniature wheels, children's toys, funerary carts, and even ancient texts. However, because the wheel spread so quickly, scientists remain uncertain about exactly where and when it was first invented, or whether it was independently invented in different places and times.
