One word can mean so much. Think about the word run. An athlete runs a race. Water runs down a window. A manager runs a company. A candidate runs for office. You can even have a run of good luck. One word — many meanings. Today, Pastor Ken points you to a title of God that is just as rich: “The Lord of Armies.” It speaks of His power, authority, justice, and care for His people. So much is wrapped up in that one name. And yet, as weighty as it is, even that title cannot fully capture who He is.

Traditions can be powerfully symbolic. The smell of turkey on Thanksgiving Day, hanging ornaments on the Christmas tree, lighting fireworks on the Fourth of July. But if you do those symbolic acts just to do them, they become meaningless. Today, Pastor Ken reminds you that spiritual traditions can turn into empty rituals as well. There are deep, powerful truths behind them—but if you practice them out of habit alone, you’re missing the point. He challenges you to ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?”

Every job involves an evaluation. Whether it’s a formal sit-down with the boss or an informal pop-in from the principal, every head of a school or business wants to know what results you are producing. But today, Pastor Ken reminds you that Jesus isn’t the CEO of a company. Of course, He wants you to be faithful with the time and talents He has entrusted you with, but at the end of the day, He accepts you, not what you have produced for Him. Be faithful with what He has given you, but rest in His acceptance.
