In 2011, Ross Ulbricht, a.k.a. Dread Pirate Roberts founded the Silk Road marketplace in the Dark Web where illegal drugs could be purchase anonymously. We will explain what happened, how the site was eventually taken down, Ulbricht arrested and charge and how we can link the criminological theory of Space Transition to try and explain why Ulbricht felt motivated to create and illegal site.
