As Motӧrhead celebrate their 50th anniversary an old tape from 1976 has surfaced that documents the first ever studio recordings of Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke & Phil Taylor, entitled The Manticore Tapes. This recording has been sat on tape for 49 years and is finally seeing the light of day. On Wednesday 16th April an event was held to celebrate the launch of a brand new mix of Motörhead seminal Ace Of Spades album. The event included a playback in Dolby's Soho headquarters screening room and was preceded by a Q&A of people associated with the album, both old and new. Kris Needs (journalist and friend of the band), Django Holder (engineer who did the Dolby mix), John Jackson (owner of Jackson's studios where the album was recorded), Sally Freeman (John's daughter and runner during the album recording) and all hosted by Howard H Smith.
