  • Real Estate Feature: Mueller Neighborhood
    Oct 31 2022
You’re listening to the Michael J Crosa Portfolio, where I show you what’s possible with podcasting! Each episode I’ll share an example of a different style of podcast, and point out the unique elements of each one. Today I’ll be sharing an episode from an imagined podcast called Austin City Diddy, which has short episodes featuring neighborhoods around the city of Austin. The podcast is targeted towards potential home buyers who are looking for more information about specific neighborhoods. From a marketing standpoint, this would provide a competitive first impression for the agent or agency sponsoring the podcast. And from a more practical standpoint, a realtor could tell clients specific episodes to listen to on their way to a showing. So. • Audio Drama: Hello Listener, You're On The Air
    Oct 12 2022
Welcome to the Michael J Crosa Portfolio, where I show you what’s possible with podcasting! Each episode I’ll share an example of a different style of podcast, and point out the unique elements of each one. Today’s episode is about audio dramas. These are scripted and usually fictional stories with actors and sound effects; they’re designed to immerse the listener in a story in the same way that a movie or TV show does. Aside from pure entertainment, audio dramas can be used for training scenarios, advertisements, and more.  This audio drama is called Hello Listener, You’re On The Air - a spooky story that takes place both in and on the air of a small town radio station. It even has some ad spoofs thrown in! I produced this in collaboration with Abby Brenker, a horror creator and the driving force behind the Lunatics Radio Hour podcast. There were a lot of folks involved with this project, including several actors and editors. A full list of credits will come at the end. • Narration: Andreuccio of Perugia
    Sep 22 2022
Welcome to The Michael J Crosa Portfolio, where I show you what’s possible with podcasting! Each episode I’ll share an example of a different style of podcast, and point out the unique elements of each one and how that format might apply to your business. In this episode I'll be playing a story that I recorded for the podcast Bob’s Short Story Hour. It is called Andreuccio of Perugia, and it comes from a 14th century Italian book called The Decameron. There’s a few things I’d like to notice as you listen. First, notice my tone when I’m narrating as the speaker. My goal is to use natural inflection and energy while staying true to the original text and meaning. I also add character voices in order to maintain clarity. Some are subtle, while others are silly and clearly not what you would hear in 14th century Italy!
