Hi and welcome to episode 115 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! Today, we're diving into the topic of emulation and how Nintendo is handling the new Delta emulation app on the Apple App Store. Delta coming to Apple has changed the conversation around emulation a bit since it's made it feel more mainstream and accessible - something Nintendo is not going to be happy about, but what can they actually do about it? Let's dig into this topic! Also in this episode, we have a special guest joining us, Stealth40K who is a prominent member of the Nintendo fan community. We chat with Stealth about the state of Nintendo's relationship with fans and what they can do better as Nintendo prepares for the launch of Switch 2. We've played A TON of indie games this week after the Indie Game Showcase and we tell you all about the ones we loved in the games we're playing segment. We wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon community. All this and more is coming right up!

Hello and welcome to episode 114 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! This week, we're starting our fun podcast series diving into Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door! This game is coming out in about a month on Nintendo Switch and we can't wait to play it. Today we're going to be talking about everything you need to know before you play this game. It's really interesting because Kit has actually never played the game and Krysta has played it multiple times so there are some different perspectives. Also in this episode, we tell you why Nintendo is not attending Gamescom this year and react to John Cena's viral Zelda Instagram post. We're playing some new games this week and we're watching the new Fallout show and we wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon subscribers.

Hi and welcome to episode 113 of the Kit & Krysta Podcast! Today we'll be talking about what Nintendo can do to buy some time since it seems like the Switch 2 won't be out until 2025. We're entering an interesting time where after the summer, we actually don't know what Nintendo is planning and what games are coming out for the rest of the year. We have some ideas of what Nintendo could be doing to keep everything moving along and still make 2024 a great year. Also in this episode, we're playing a lot of new games but on some unexpected systems and we dive into the drama that's happening at Square Enix with the Dragon Quest development teams. We wrap it all up with questions from our wonderful Patreon subscribers. All of this is coming right up!

Running out of material

I was a huge fan of Kit & Krysta in Nintendo Minute and was really excited when I heard they were starting their own podcast! Sadly, the show just doesn't seem to have staying power.

The first month or so was great, with them sharing a lot of interesting, behind the scenes info about working at Nintendo, but after that initial release, the show quickly went downhill. Most episodes now are extremely generic, focusing mainly on random lists/activities that are a dime a dozen from amateur content creators on YouTube.

Worst of all now though, is lately the show is full of non-stop plugging! Every episode starts with them asking for more Patreon subscribers, to the point they're now begging people to pay for them to take a vacation in Japan. Reminders about Patreon occur multiple times per episode and it's horror really uncomfortable. On top of this, they now also have sponsored ads that very abruptly start playing out of nowhere, sometimes in the middle of a sentence!

I don't want to sound mean, because I used to be huge fans of theirs. But after almost a year of listening, the show is very disappointing and kind of awkward to listen to.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
