Lu and her friends are all hitting 50 and have no intention of learning to knit. Feisty and fabulous, this foursome is determined to grow old disgracefully. Join them on their journey across the desert and across the years to their home town and a school reunion, in this audio drama from the international best-selling author of The Bride Stripped Bare.

As for Lu - recently divorced, living with three demanding kids, always awaiting promotion at work - well Lu really believes she's reached the age of invisibility. Love must be over for her. Or is it? Laughing, sometimes crying, ruthlessly honest and often downright filthy, Lu, Chip, Bianca and Flic share secrets while the desert roads turn treacherous....

Hard to hear

The music it Loud and unnecessary. It’s very distracting. The back round noise also over power the characters and you can’t hear them at various points

Fun story, horrid music

Ugh. The drum/guitar at the beginning, ending and sometimes middle of every chapter is too loud, too harsh and doesn’t work with the story.
The story is fun, voices are done very well and a believable story.

Ok

Music was annoying. Liked the characters. Found some of the situations not quite believable. A good listen for a long car ride.

Breath of fresh air

I’m almost 48 & I relate on every level. When a woman hits 40, she truly becomes invisible. Even though the story is fiction, I still envy the close bond of friendship the four woman had together.

Needs some audio tweaking.

I really enjoyed it but the background noise was way to loud. I couldn’t hear the characters part of the time.

Devoured the whole 11 podcasts in one listen!

This is an awesome book in podcast form that explores & explains the very different lives & view points of 4 amazing ladies along with the views of their female relatives & even their male relationships! It’s funny, sad, angry, scary, empowering every single emotion is touched on throughout the 11 episodes as well as relationship & tensions between mother daughter & men -oh the men as well as so so much more! This is an edge of your seat screaming don’t do that to your playing device or laughing out loud so much so you draw attention of others. I pulled for Don from the beginning & just hoped Lou would get her s—t straight before the end. With the things left as they were I feel a part 2 would be great with another 11+ Eps. Showcasing the loose ends not completely tied up in the 1st series. Plus I so loved Don. He so much more manly than Lou’s other men she still has no idea what a real man can do esp when your hearts are in the mix! She just hasn’t ever been loved by a real man!! Please write a part 2 or atleast a few for chapters! The writing is awesome the narration perfectly done by each reader brings the characters to life! The only thing I wish were different was the intro and outro tune lengths the rest was perfection great job y’all!
