  • I read the English Dictionary in short sections, comment on it, make bad jokes, and sometimes sing little songs. I hope it’s more entertaining than just reading the dictionary alone. It’s an evolving project so the letter ”A” had lower quality, plus less commenting and jokes.

    I read from foam to fo'c'sle.

    The formula for the f-number is actually very simple, but you'll probably never have to use it.

    f-number = focal length / diameter of the aperture

    I also can never remember how the focal length is measure on a lens, but the shorter ones are wide angle lenses and the longer ones are telephoto lenses.

    I'm no engineer so the flywheel is confusing.

    Compared to AM radio, FM has higher quality sound and travels a shorter distance. And the radio wave frequencies are much higher. AM frequencies range from about 535 to 1700 kHz (535,000 to 1,700,000 Hz) and FM is 88 to 108 MHz (88,000,000 to 108,000,000 Hz). FM waves vibrate faster than AM.

    So it may not be that f0.9 lets it more light than exists, but more so that the diameter of the opening is bigger than the distance to the sensor. Or something

Lots of chit chat, thank goodness

I have been searching for the perfect podcast for what feels like forever. Something I can enjoy when I am paying attention, but can keep on and zone out to while I’m working. It feels less like I am being read the dictionary and more like I am listening to a friend talk and talk. I love that when I am paying attention it is interesting to listen to, but I don’t have to constantly pay attention. I listen pretty much all day at work now. I am so thankful for this podcast!

this is the perfect thing to fall asleep to, or even have on as background noise. 10/10 would recommend. Spencer does a great job
